Who is a software engineer in 2026?
Before designing our third major curriculum update, we spent months asking one question: who is a software engineer today, and where is the role heading? This is what we found.

"In Kenya, I learned the theory. At //kood, I learned to actually build software."
Three Kenyan engineers spent the spring in Tallinn building an AI-enhanced peer-review prototype as part of the Digital Explorers programme — and changed how they see themselves as engineers.

//kood Brought Estonian Education Innovation to Kenya
From 130 applicants, 13 students earned a place in the first kood/Nairobi cohort — now studying alongside Estonian peers on the same platform, with the same assignments, from across continents.

Jõhvi, Nairobi and Zhytomyr Are Sprinting Into the World of Coding
//kood is running simultaneous Selection Sprints across three international locations. In Nairobi, 32 sprinters were selected from over 130 applicants — with a perfect 50/50 gender split.

What is the Selection Sprint?
A three-week on-site coding bootcamp that serves as the admissions test for //kood. Daily assignments, two exams, weekend group projects — and a real answer to whether this path is for you.
